What is Cru?
Cru is an interdenominational, international movement on college campuses all over the world. Our goal is to give students on Western's campus the opportunity to hear about a personal relationship with Christ, as well as give students an opportunity to grow in that relationship with Him. For more check out our About Us page.
What does interdenominational mean?
Interdenominational means we welcome all Christian, Bible-believing, Jesus-loving students from all across the theological spectrum. Our Statement of Faith is in accordance and agreement with most all Christian denominations so that we can have the most unity possible in order to truly reach the campus for Christ.
What makes Cru unique?
Cru exists to reach the entire campus, both students and faculty, with the gospel. Our God-sized vision is to one day see every facet of campus - every major, dorm hall, and organization - saturated with people who know Christ and make Christ known. We do this all through the lens of Win-Build-Send.
What is Win-Build-Send?
Win-Build-Send is our missional DNA in which every decision is made.
- Win - How can we share the gospel so that people have the opportunity to place their faith in Jesus?
- Build - How can we equip believers to be on mission wherever they are?
- Send - What opportunities can we give students to tell people about Jesus and disciple others?
What is the gospel?
The Gospel literally means "Good News." And the good news is that God loves us and created us to know Him personally, but we've turned astray and have all rejected this relationship because of our sin, but God sent His son Jesus as a perfect substitute for our sins and rose from the dead so that we may have a relationship with God through faith. For more check out our What We Believe page and our Articles page.
What does Cru do throughout the week?
Throughout the week we have our Bible studies, called Community Groups. We also have our Weekly Meetings held at Grise Auditorium every Thursday night at 8:30. On top of that we have conferences and trips throughout the year, for more info check out our Events page.
Is Cru a church?
No. Cru is an extension of the Church but it is not a church. What this means is that we serve as an avenue to reach and teach students about the gospel but we are not the end all be all. We believe that being involved in the local church is expressed clearly in the Bible and we encourage students to get plugged in with one. For a list of local churches in the area check out our Local Churches page.
